This was my first solo performance, at the age of 69, as an improvising musician, 24 years after I joined AMM. A daunting experience; the longer I left it the more daunting it became.

Living in Deal it is impossible to ignore the sounds of the birds, and in particular, the seagulls. To some their melancholy wailing and predatory squawking have led to demands for a cull, unheeded, fortunately, by the council. I love their sounds, as I do the songs of most birds. So when I was given the opportunity by Ross Downes and Adam Coney to perform and record with the birds I was delighted.
